User Security Error in Non-English OneWorld

This is for CNCs working in non-English versions of OneWorld.

If you work in User Security (P98OWSEC), be careful if you don't work in English. In Spanish OneWorld, for example, if you add a new record for User Security and leave Data Source (Fuente de Datos) blank, OneWorld will fill this in for you with "IMPLIC" (Implicito). This is wrong, wrong, wrong. It has to be "DEFAULT". If you allow it to be "IMPLIC", the users won't be able to sign in.

There are two morals to this story: 1) The best idea is to do all System Admin tasks in English (this is bad, but true), and 2) Hay partes de OneWorld que son una mierda que no se aguanta. (trans: OneWorld is terrific, marvelous, and powerful).

Hope this helps.

In fact, there's been some times it generates 2 records for that user: one
using DEFAULT and another using IMPLIC...

Thanks HSICKEL - it is useful suggestions like that which make the JdeList so useful.

Tim is only trying to share his valuable experience. Often a work around or a heads up is just what the JdeList is really useful for. We do not all have the luxury to upgrade at will, we have to live and work with what we have.

Thanks Tim.

Hi Herbert,
What I really need to update is my signature block! The systems where I have seen this behavior are both OneWorld Xe, Update 6, SP19.1/SP20. Thanks though.

Herbert, maybe not. It's happening under Xe as well. I just tested my ERP8
Demo and the bug is still there.
You guys from Germany have one advantage: as far as I know the word DEFAULT
has not been translated to something like "Vorbestimmt" or whatever. The
word was kept in it's english original. Maybe that is the reason why you are
not seeing this problem that exists since B7331, at least.

Thanks, Gerd

Re: RE: User Security Error in Non-English OneWorld

Hi Gerd,

we had this in the past with B7332 they translated "Default" to "Standard" and we had the same issue. I tried it on Xe on a Live-System with a german user and it´s working. We are here on Xe Update 5, SP18.1

Fw: User Security Error in Non-English OneWorld

Tim,

This is true for ERP8, I dont know about 7332....

The value 'DEFAULT' is a text value that is set on the vocabulary
Overrides,
from GH9011 Run the Vocab overrides program and select P98OWSEC, select the
language you are using and expand form P98OWSECB then expand Text
Variables.
Two values should be displayed, in base English these are DEFAULT and
System
Role. I suspect that you have IMPLIC specified instead of DEFAULT. Change
the value to DEFAULT for your language and you should be OK. NOTE:
Remember
to refresh the local specs after the change to bring it down to the client.

Hope this helps
