Setting to have ESU replace object instead of Merge it...

All,

Is there an option comewhere in the ESU application to set an object to be replaced instead of Merged?? I can't find one, and I have a developer that swears it's there. I mentioned the spec merge selection application and that we could set it there. He said swears that it is available in the ESU application itself...

Any ideas???
