Hi List,

Our site is about to upgrade the AS400 Enterprise server from V4R5 to V5R1 -
is there any pre-requisite work we need to do in OneWorld (Xe SP18.1) prior
to carrying out this OS upgrade ?

Why not upgrade to the current release V5R2?

Two things:

1) Check on the IBM web site for J.D. Edwards about the PTF's, client accesss express versions that might need to be upgraded. They have specific information.

2) I'm not sure about V5R1, but V5R2 required Oneworld service pack 20 or higher. This can be found in the minimum tech requirements in the knowledge jungle.

I had a bad experience with SP 21 and SP 21Q and we are finally stable on SP22Q.

Good luck

Malcolm

Ignore signature line - its old info.

Malcolm, we just upgraded from v4r5 to v5r1 and we're on SP21_E1. As previously stated, ensure that you have all the current service packs on the AS/400. The only problem we ran into was that some of the full clients didn't work because their client access on their PCs were too old. We found that client access V4R3 on Win2K systems and below are not compatible with AS400 V5R1. We also found that some Win98 PCs didn't work even though they had client access V4R5. So we upgraded the Win98 machine to use client access V5R2 (works find with AS/400 V5R1). Hope that helps.
