To all JDEList members,

What Martha wants to know is, if there's a way of running a UBE report
version without being prompted with the processing options, like in World.
Apparently, she's been told this is not possible in OW.

Martha,

In P0082, menu design, find and select the menu on which the report sits. Select
the report and change the definition. Choose blind execution (3) and type the
desired version into the version box.

Well...I did that but is not that I try to find...let me give and exemple: Invoce print...I have like 5 diferent options...and I want to put specifict one in a menu...this version alredy have a procesion options and data selection...I dont want the user see the procesion options just the data selection...if I put the option directlly and I run it apear the PO and then the printer options...never the data selection...In WS when you add the version you can tell it if you want to the user see the PO or DS or bouth or any...but here I dont found that...Is posible???

RE: RE: Opcion con Version especifica

There is security levels that can be set on each version that has been
created for a report. A security level of "0" allows any user to change the
data selection and processing options for this version. If you set the
security at "1", it will allow only the "last modified by" person to change
the processing options. I don't know if this has an affect on the data
selection.

I hope this helps!

My apologies, you actually want to leave the option code field empty, then enter
the version.

My apologies again.

Try this. (I'll put it all together this time in 1 email)

Go to menu design, (P0082) and open the menu on which the report exists. Select
the report and choose define. In the Option code field, delete whatever is there
and type the dersion insto the version field. This should work

Martha,
it appears you are correct that this cannot be done. what you may want to consider is as follows:
copy the UBE to use to a custom one (include copying processing options, etc.).
when user takes menu option to run the new UBE let the user see the processing options and change them as they wish. then, in the UBE event rules (initialization section of the page header ?) change back the processing option values to what you want them to be.
dave
ps: your english is fine.

Dave, Martha, please give this a try. I've just tried it again and it seems to work just fine for me.

Try this. (I'll put it all together this time in 1 email)

Go to menu design, (P0082) and open the menu on which the report exists. Select the report and choose define. In the Option code field, delete whatever is there and type the dersion insto the version field. This should work.

When the UBE is launched, the user should be taken directly to the output device selection screen.

Thaks everyone...definally dont work like I want...who say OW is better than WS?? I want my green screens back :((

See you...

Martha :))

ken,
the problem is martha wants to see the selection screen and does not want to see the processing options. to go directly to the output device bypasses the selection screen.....right ?

Ah, good point Dave. A small but important detail i over looked.

thanks,

sorry Martha. It doesn't look good.

Re: RE: Opcion con Version especifica

Also Martha - If you are on a release prior to B733.2, you will not be able to have a report from a menu automatically prompt for data selection. If you are on B733.2, you must be on SP11 and apply ESU 3646923. There are other steps (like changing the jde.ini) as well. I found those steps described in document ott-00-0038 on the Knowledge Garden. The document also tells you how to set up your report to use this enhancement.

Is this the information you were looking for?

Thanks SMallory. I added a question about Data Selection and then minutes
later saw your answer to Martha.
