Next Number (alias ICU) got limit 99999999

Hi everyone,
I need a great help for you all.

The Batch Number (alias ICU) got limit 99999999. As you know, the alias ICU is related to Next Number 00/1. This N001 has 8 positions.

7 days ago JDE OW (7334) changed automatically from 99999999 to 1 and started to increase one by one.

Now, some cutomized applications are getting error Unique Constraint on F0011 table because is causing conflict between old ICUT/ICU and new ICUT/ICU.

Here we are thinking to delete some old Batch Numbers.
We would like to receive some advices from you. Can it affect other standard modules?

Please advice!

Thanks in advance,
Guilherme

Hi,
You should use: Summarize & Purge Data menu (G09317).
First you can summarize records (R09811) from prior fiscal years and after that purge or delete records from F0911 for these years.

Best regards,
Natasa

How old is the data on your system? Purging the data may be a bit complex.

Thanks for answers.

Analyzing the F0011 table we found:

---------------------------------------------------------
RANGE
FROM TO QTY OF BATCH NUMBERS USED
---------- ---------- -------------------------
00.000.001 09.999.999 7.343.722 <- Now, we are using this range
10.000.000 19.999.999 2.663.219
20.000.000 29.999.999 1.832.441
30.000.000 39.999.999 3.440.954
40.000.000 49.999.999 850.884
50.000.000 59.999.999 1.865.476
60.000.000 69.999.999 1.865.476
70.000.000 79.999.999 978.765
80.000.000 89.999.999 2.722.722
90.000.000 99.999.999 2.175.159

Please advice:

1) Change the Batch Next Number to 40.000.000 range -> is it a valid alternative?
2) Change the customized applications to check F0011 before -> we are thinking in this way
3) Is there any place (table, Parameter of BSFN, etc.) we can choice “Yes” or “No” for “Check Batch Next Number Before to create”?
4) Someone has experience in a situation like that? Could please share the experience?

I think purging off some old data should be considered. Using the JDE purge program (R09911) will allow you to select companies, business units, and/or date ranges to remove old and unused data. This only removes the F0911 detail; the account balances in F0902 that are used for reporting still remain. Then integrity program R007031 will remove old unused batch headers from F0011 since the associated batches have been removed.
Just a thought.
