Install 15.1_017 Fails

[gtatravel]

I am using sp15.1_009 at present and
i tried to update to sp15.1_017 with no success.

I had to roll back to sp15.1_009.

I don't know if this helps but I installed a one-off for SP17.1 and the instructions for this one-off say to "contact J.D. Edwards Customer support" if this specific error occurs (i.e. "Error Failed to Update ...".

Apparently they know about this problem but don't want to let on the solution unless you call them.

This absolute not normal! This happened to me when I install SP18.1_F1. I did the one-off install over the weekend and open a ticket with JDE support line telling them about the error message what were created when running the JDEUPDATE program. They said it was a normal thing but it wasn't. It cause a lot of business function failure and even created a mis-match between the signature files of the service program(DLL) and the JDEKRNL.LIB. When reports were submitted to the AS400 we were getting signature violation and cause ASP pool to reach it's threshold. Which cause the AS400 to IPL itself.

We had to back out of SP18.1_F1 one-off.

My system configuration is:
Enterprise:AS400
Citrix and NT Deployment Server.

When we got this error previously, JDE asked us to run LINKBSFN again, then do the JDEUPDATE. Don't forget you must run LINKBSFN over all the path codes that you will run your JDEUPDATE. Also don't forget to make sure OWESPB733 is your current library.
