Print Queue Hangs

Has anyone encountered problems with an UBE where the Queue services for the server had to be stopped and started. We are having a problem with the UBE R34650 where it hangs the print queues after which all of the print process are in 'W' status until the Queue services are stopped and started. JDE has been looking into this for the last month and we have no response on the issue. Does anyone here have any ideas, any help would be greatly appreciated.

R34650 isn't by any silly chance running as a subsystem job is it?

How many Queues do you have defines and is the job abending in anyway?

No it isn't running as a subsystem job. We checked the logs and they seem okay.

We have three queues defined and it runs fine the first time but hangs the queues the second time it is almost like there are some processes or sessions holding the application layer and the second call to this UBE is overloading and hanging the queue.

There has been a bug some time ago that caused such behavior. Some UBEs
would lock some records in the rdaspec file and not release it until the
services got reset. Check out SAR# 3696550. There is a code change document
in the KG for that SAR.
