block zero price

hello everyone,

wondering if anyone can enlighten on how to block zero price from being saved under the procurement and sales order program? is there a setting for this or program need modification?

another situation i have here is that i have several versions for the same program say, p4310, customized for different order types. for the same purpose, would it be possible to block zero price for one order type while allowing zero price to be saved for other p4310 with other order types?

all recommendations welcomed.

thanks.

Hello lyqueen

Whenever there is a zero price or cost in the order the system gives a warning. You can change it from a warning message to an error and this will block the further processing of the order. But this will become applicable to all your versions of that application.

How do you change a message from a warning to an error?

Hi Scott,

Although I do not know how to do it on your 8.1 cum 3 configuaration but I can tell you how to do it on OneWorld.

1.) Go to GH951 menu
2.) Start P92002 "Error Messages" menu selection.
3.) Filter for your message and Select it.
4.) You will have a field on the Form: "Error Level"
5.) Change the value in the mentioned field:

1 = Error Message
2 = Warning Message
3 = Informative Message

I do not know that does it help you.

Thanks for the info. It looks like the field is not in 8.1

hi eric,
thanks for the info. i knew about that method suggested by you earlier. but as i've explained, i have a problem whereby if i changed the warning to an error, how about those sample items which are not chargable? they are free of charge, therefore, zero priced.

any other alternative? appreciate your help!

thanks and have a good day!

lyqueen,
Accepted that once you have set the message level to error then the system will not allow order to be processed for items which do not have a base price. But then for the items which have to be given as sample you will have to set up an price adjustment in Advance Pricing which will be an override price adjustment of zero price. You enterve a price in the base price table for the sample item but when you make an order and the override price adjustment is fired then the order will be processed with zero value and this should solve your problem. I have already set it up at a couple of clients place.
Thanks
