Moving an order to a different branch/plant

Is there a program that will let me move an entire order from one branch/plant
to another? For example, a user enters an order into branch/plant 1 and then
realizes that they really want it to ship out of branch/plant 2. As far as I
can tell, it appears to me that they would have to change the branch/plant in
the all the detail lines. since changes in the header are not brought down to
the detail. We are on A7.3.11

Thanks,

Gary Gallant

Gary, Add PHMCU to UDC table 43/DF. Call up the header for the order and
change the branch/plant. While still in the header, hit F18. This will
update the branch/plant into all detail records.

Do a F18 from the order header and you can change what information is written to the detail lines.

Or table 42/DF for sales

My company wants to start using the inventory system's ABC Analysis (P4164)
for Items based on sales.

We've been comparing an item's sales amount on the ABC analysis report to
the sales amount total of the Item history (F42119) records. The ABC
analysis is set up to use the (F4115) file. Differences have beed noticed

It was discovered that regular warehouse sales orders update the Sales
Amount field in F4115 with the extended price from the order (which is
expected). However, an interbranch sale (When the header branch is not
equal to the detail branch) updates the Sales amount field in F4115 with
the extended cost from the sales order. (I assume the reason for this is
that the detail branch is in effect "selling" the item to the header
branch at cost.)

My company does not charge a "markup" to the header branch for an
interbranch sale and we do not create interbranch invoices. If we did how
would the update of interbranch invoices affect the sales amount field in
F4115? Is this when the Extended sales amount updates the Sales Amount
bucket in F4115? Will the Header branch record for the item in F4115 get
updated with the extended sales amount?

Thanks in advance for your attention.

RE: RE: Moving an order to a different branch/plant

I tried the F20 to setup the fields to update in the detail as well as adding
the entry to 42/DF manually. The program P40HDR has the fields hard coded in
it so MCU did not show up. I also looked at the program X40HDR and it has no
logic to handle a change in MCU. My guess is that there were too many issues
to address around updating this from the header (commitments, line status to
not update, etc.) so they did not give it as an option.

Gary

We have found that changing the branch plant on the line item in a sales
order throws off the commitment amount in the F41021, JDE help desk
recommends deleting the line and keying in a new line with the correct
branch plant... Perhaps you could use the copy order function and change the
bp before you actually create your order??

Gary,

Changing of BP at a line detail level could lad to the
following problems:

1) The next numbers will get alloted from the original
BP on which order is entered. There is no way by which
you could generate next number from the replaced BP
block.

2) You need to examine effect if you are running DRP.

Caution:
If you wish to change BP in spite of the above
pitfalls, you should use Change Order option to make
any changes and allow system to generate change order
number for all the status codes.

Regards,

Niranjan
