2nd ES or Multiple Foundations

I'm currently comparing two options for testing Service Packs before rolling
them into PROD.

1. The first is simply seperating the foundations for PRD and CRP/DEV as per
the JDE instructions.

2. The second would be installing a 2nd Enterprise Server for CRP/DEV which
could run on a test Service Pack. One ES would old all PRD datasources and
common datasources while the 2nd ES would hold all CRP and DEV datasources.

How do people out there who have multiple foundations on one ES like it? How
do you find the admin overhead? Do you or your users like using snapshot?

Do you think installing a 2nd ES for CRP/DEV with a different service pack
is a better idea? (This would allow enough space to seperate the JDE
database into several databases). Does a 2nd ES add more admin overhead than
multiple foundations?

What do you think are the pros and cons of either solution? What option
would you choose and why?

Thanks in advance,

Colin
