OW Performance Issues

We have just installed OW Xe SP 15 (with update 3 applied) in a
coexistence's environment and we are having performance issues with
response time. Our enterprise server is an AS/400 is a 720 with a 2 way
processor with 5g of memory running V5R1, our user's workstations are
Pentium III 800s with 256K of RAM running Windows NT and our deployment
server is a Dual Xeon 733 with 1g of RAM running Windows NT which our
central objects are stored. If anyone has any ideas how we could speed up
our response time, please let me know?

Look to see where your JDE Preferences file is located, F98950. If it is
on the deployment server, try moving it to the AS/400, in your data
library. That way the session doesn't have to constantly go back to the
deployment server to look up the preferences. Just a thought. We did that
and it did help a little. Also check to make sure all your indexes have
been created correctly. Especially in the accounting
area..................

Problem Identified - only 256K of RAM ;)

Seriously though ... can you be more specific? What are the response time issues? Interactive programs? Batch programs?

General questions:
1. Are all clients FAT clients?
2. Are you using Partial or Full installs on the workstations?
3. What is the speed of your network backbone and individual segments?

The AS/400 gurus on the forum can probably point you to more specific things to look out for - particularly to do with ODBC drivers.

Our response time issues are interactive and all our workstations are FAT
clients with full package installs. Our network LAN backbone is a Cisco
Catalyst Model 5500, a 10/100/1000 ethernet switch. Each department has a
dedicated Cisco Catalyst Model 2900 XL, a 10/100 ethernet switch that feeds
back to the Cisco Catalyst 5500 LAN backbone. We use Intel Pro 100 network
cards in our PC's. It seems our biggest problems are initial screen JITI,
the first time we go into an applications and bring up media objects. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.
