Dear List,

So we are planning to perform a Tools Only Upgrade from our current release 9.1.5.5 to 9.2.0.3 while keeping the Application Release on 9.1.
I wanted to reach out and check with the community if there are customers who have gone live with this setup (Apps 9.1 and TR 9.2.0.3) and what challenges they faced.

We are particularly concerned about the memory leaks, zombies, or any other bugs which you might have faced and you are still working with Oracle. Basically any issues post go-live that has been encountered.

We are an iSeries V7R1 shop with WebSphere 8.5.5 on Windows.
We heavily use BSSV and and have live working setup for AIS mobility.

Thanks,
Soumen

It may be worth considering an apps upgrade at the same time. The reason being is that tools and ESU level are now connected. So to go to 9.2.0.3 you'll need to take some ESUs and to take new 9.1 ESUs you'll need to be on the 9.2 tools. We hit that issue when we tried to take our 9.1 system patch current but remain on the 9.1.5.5 tools. It didn't work because JM18666 came along for the ride.

Otherwise, unless there is a compelling reason to upgrade tools it may be worth sitting on 9.1.5.5 until you are ready for an apps upgrade.
