How to force a UBE to run in Error on WSJ?

I have a UBE that calls a third party interface. I am capturing the error returned by the third party interface and printing them on the pdf and on the work center.
However, the UBE shows up as "done" on work with submitted jobs.
Is there a way to force the UBE to run in "error" on work with submitted jobs?

The error status in WSJ is for indicating if there was an issue running the batch process. It isn't for alerting the user that an error condition exists like you described. Alerting the user by email can be a good option.
