PD910 vs http://pd910

Hello there

We have DNS for PD910 and it works fine in IE8 when users type PD910 in the browser and redirect to http://pd910/jde/E1Menu.maf and show the login screen.

Surprisingly in IE9 typing PD910 does not bring the login screen and users need to type http://pd910
I tried deleted all the browser history and did both for IE8 and IE9. IE8 works fine

Any idea?

Thanks

Why in the world do you make users type in URLs?

1. Create standardized Shortcuts that publish to each Desktop
2. Teach users how to use Browser Favorites
3. Make http://pd910 the user's home page
4. . . .

Thanks for the suggestion.
I was more interested to know why happenning in IE9.

Point 1 make sense as point 3 we can not do that as we have a intranet which is defaulted as home page.
Note: Not all users are JD Edward users.

Thanks

IE9 is using the address bar as a search feature.

Internet Options -> Advanced Tab, Scroll down and find "Go to an intranet site for a single word entry...", enable.

You could also disable the Address Bar search option via add-on management for search providers, uncheck the option to search in the address bar. I'd try the first option before this one.
