Product Cost Maintenance

Anyone aware of any third party applications that would be an improvement on the standard E1 Cost Maintenance applications - to maintain mutilple costs on a large database (100,000+ Item Branch Records)
Thanks
Denise

No, other than SQL.

Can you be more specific on what's causing you issues?
Is it purchased items or manufactured items or all?
What costing methods do you use?
What JDE Cost change methods are you familiar with?

FYI we have approx 230,000 items. Adding more every day

Good luck with your implementation. Right now you're finding all the warts in the system. Don't be discouraged - every software package has warts.

Thanks for the reply. We're talking purchased items. We maintain 6 or 7 cost methods, but are updating 2 very frequently using a customized version of R41802. SQL update is not an option; we're a public company and SOX auditors won't allow update of records in production directlty via SQL.

My problem is a DBA that doesn't like to touch the keyboard; do you know of any way to upload a SQL statement into the R41802 Cost Update program before running it?

We use P4105Z1 to upload costs for mass changes. It does take a few steps to change/add costs this way. But you could use it as a starting point to simplify/automate the cost maintenance process.

Thanks,
Matt
