To my knowledge..
The stocking type (STKT) can be of
O- Obsolete (You can not sell or purchase this item)
U- Obsolete - Use up (You can continue to sell this item until quantity on hand is zero. But you can't purchase it.)
The impacts of having them are:
1.They will allow Adjustments (P4114) Issues (P4112) and Transfers (P4113)
2.Sales and Purchase order entries will get halted
Also in the Item Cross Reference Revisions program
(P4104) you can only create replacement cross-references for those items whose stocking type in the Item Master or Item Branch Plant is O or U. ( Replacement items are goods which are sold in place of the original item when you or your suppliers discontinue an item )
