EnterpriseOne 9.1 Tools Release ??? Wheresitat ?

Two dot-zero releases in less than 3 weeks. That's impressive. Its a good thing I didn't hesitate to install the GA. ;-)

Guess I'll wait another 2 weeks for 9.1.0.3.

Curious to know if the JAS updates via SM are working any better with 9.1 SMC. That has been my biggest annoyance with SMC. You can't practically do an update to JAS - you have to create a whole new instance. You definitely can't do it if you are clustered.

Hi,

You need to have E900 Standalone installation disk extracted on your system.
I just followed the instructions that came with the PDF manual of my Standalone installation (end of the PDF) : 9_0_with_8_98_Standalone_Installation_rev1.pdf
I will try to join it to this message.
Basically the steps are as follow :
- rename E900\system folder to system_backup, you may need to kill java.exe processes or even restart the system if it prevents you from renaming
- download tools release from patches and updates on Oracle Support, it's a par file
- unzip the par file (with 7zip or rename the file to .zip)
- find the folder Disk1\System , unzip the .cab files to a system folder
- copy the system folder to E900\system
- go to your E900 installation disk folder, install the jdbc driver if sqljdbc.jar is not already in ThirdParty\WebDevFeature\JDBC, copy it into that folder
- start \ThirdParty\WebDevFeature\OH4A1013_setup.exe from the E900 standalone installation disk (normally you should replace this file with the equivalent one you found in the par file of the Tools Release, but for 9.1 tools release there is no such file, it has been replaced with OUI installation, but the original file seems to work still).
- copy E900\system_backup\JDK folder to E900\system
- clear browser cache
- enjoy

Thanks a lot for info !

Do I understand correctly that you had some sort of an older (Not 9.0.2) version of standalone ?
The latest standalone available for download doesn't seem to have OH4A1013_setup.exe file

good call riko, I actually didnt know that they released a new standalone update 2. THe version i'm using is however still on e-delivery under the code V14836-01, thats a mssql database version.
I'm going to try and install the newer version and if i have no luck I'll rollback to this version.
Can you try to see if P982400 exists on your version? because you aparently need that program to make the "business flows" from the 9.1 video appear.
THanks for the info.

Got it, thanks !
No, P982400 doesn't seem to exist in 9.0 U2 standalone version

On a side note - i tried your approach with 9.0.2 (V26343 media). Instead of running non-existent OH4A1013_setup.exe i re-run Oracle Installer and chose only 'Web Dev feature' Option.
It looks like webdev got eventually istalled ( I had to copy some new JDKs 1.6 manually)
but I am still having troubles.
Everything works upto to the point of displaying a prompt page in IE. It even flashes 'JDE Enterprise One' on the page title, but them almost immideately goes to ' Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage ' error.

Application log shows following errors -
I suspect there still could be some mismatch with JDK.

Let me know how it works for you with 9.0.2.

thanks again!

Hi,

Your machine is 32 bit or 64 bit ? what is the version of JRE and JDK folders in E900\system\ ?

The 9.1 CD has JRE 1.6 but the JDK from 9.0 has JDK 1.5.
So i installed JDK 1.6_21 , installed JRE for the same version, copied the JDK to C:\E900\System and also replaced the JRE folder with new version.Still getting this erro in JDE.log:

Can you please check the version of JDK and JRE in E900\system in your installation.

Hi Willem,

Thanks so much the URL providing for look and test. I was working on that last week OK but have trouble to login today.
Are any problems to link the URL or you have expedited its valid date from mid Jan. already ? Thanks !

Hi reivlo78,

I am trying to install TR 9.1 over standalone 9.0.2, however I can't find the par file which contains folder Disk1\System with cab files in them. I have 9.1.0.1 Server Manager 06 50 par and 9.1.0.1 Enterprise-server for IntelNT from UpdateCenter. Could you help me out here.

I was looking at edelivery website for a Standalone 9.1.2.
I could not find it there. It seems like only 9.1 is available. Did Oracle release it? Did somebody already installed 9.1 Update 2 Standalone?

BTW, How about 9.1 standalone...
I downloaded it from e-Delivery but could not install it. Did anybody succeed with it?

There are a number of threads on JDEList dealing with the installation and running of the E1 910 Standalone. You will need the installation guide and (if the guide was not updated) information in the JDEList Threads.

I read that with TR 9.1.2.X and new EnterpriseOne pages, to use HR, customer and supplier self service portlets we do not need WebCenter o WebSphere portal. We can eecute them using E1 pages. Is it correct?
thanks in advance
gg

gigi

That is the rumor ! It seems that Pages can now have portlets embedded into them....

It's correct and not a rumor. I was in OpenWorld last week and test this new functionality. We already installed on our platform tools 9.1.2 without problem.
There is another big functionality with the new version of the tools, the possibility to use E1 task and security in E1 pages.

Regards,

Franck Blettner
