    Well, this forum is not he quickest way to get help, because I can only get daily digests once a day and so you were right to contact me directly in parallel.

    Anyway, as we since found out, this object's local TAM specs were corrupt on this client and so all operations on this object were failing as a result. So the easiest solution appears to be to restore this client to when these specs were alright and retry...
