Old PO want to close

I want to close the Old PO in the System through Writer report. Anybody help me to close the PO's.

You can do this in a World Writer by using the F4311 only as the file.
You will need to create 2 new fields in the World Writer, one called $NL
(New Last Status) and $NN (New Next Status). Under the definition for
these, define $NL as your current Next Status and under the $NN define
it as 993. After this has been done, then place a 7 next the PDLTTR
field and assign the $NL to it and a 7 next to PDNXTR field and assign
the $NN. Then you will need to go to menu G8231, you will need to use
option 14 and 15 to give yourself access to update for the WW group and
then the file and the two fields PDLTTR and PDNXTR.

After you have done all of this you can then run the WW with the Data
Selection for the PO's you want to close.

with some screen captures showing you more details off line to your

My suggestion is that you do not close old purchase orders via World Writ er. You are asking for potential trouble if you do that. You really nee d to use the Purchase Orders program to close purchase order detail lines and the purchase order header itself (as needed). The JDE program does all the edit checking and logic needed to properly close out a line and/o r header.
My question is this - why do you have old purchase orders that are not cl osed? Is this a large number or a small number? Are you not using the O rder Activity Rules (OAR) to update purchase order status automatically t o a closed status? When you talk about closing old purchase orders, are you talking about purchase order detail lines, just the purchase order he ader itself, or both? It does make a difference, as different files cont ain the header and detail information.
