MD5 checksum for JDE downloads?

Hi,

Does anyone know if Oracle provides any MD5 or similar
checksum for your downloads? (either from Metalink3 or
from eDelivery)

I had some weird errors while installing Tools 8.98.0.6
on the Deployment server, which were solved by downloading
again that component from Metalink3. It was a situation
similar to recent AltQuark's Java errors.

Then, I compared both .PAR files and one of them was
different (corrupted!).

So, I think it'd be nice to have some MD5 checksum to
confirm that our downloads are correct BEFORE naively
applying them to our Production servers.

Thanks

Athough that sounds quite a reasonable request....I think the time it would take to check the checksums on 63Gb of EnterpriseOne downloads would be....quite long.....

I think one thing that might help is to only download one file at a time. Its seems this issue occurs when you download lots of files in parallel. A good download manager might help.

Of course, if Oracle went to TORRENTS, then their bandwidth usage would dramatically reduce, the time it would take to download files would be better and we'd have much more reliable downloads....they really, really ought to try that with all their stuff.
