Ship Confirm P4205 item cancellations

We recently discovered an issue with Ship Confirm P4205 - a blanket sales order is not reset to the correct quantity on the sales order released from this blanket if cancelled at ship confirm. The items cancelled niether return to the original blanket order or update in the Item Availability! Oracle tells us this is working as designed. Any one encountered this issue and discovered a work around?

I've used Blanket Orders on earlier versions of JDE and as far as I remember there has never been any functionality to go back and update based on cancelled quantities on the generated order - but it seems like a fair requirement. Re the Item Availability - have you processed the R42995? Rgds Doogie

Yes, ran the repost and it failed to correct the Availability quantities. The cancelled items just seem to disappear!
