Re: Can I see table with all columns and it\'s description

Hi

In OMW click on the Search tab on RHS. Select from drop list Category text box as “Object Librarian”, Search Type text box as “Object Name” then type Table name say F4101 in the Search Text box of the Search Tab and click the Find button. F4101 will be displayed in the Search window.

Highlight F4101 and get it in to your project using the <= (Get arrow) in OMW

Highlight F4101 and select Design button from OMW toolbar. Open the Table Design. It shows all columns alias and description.

Re: Can I see table with all columns and it\'s description

Try P80010 application.

Re: Can I see table with all columns and it\'s description

What version has that app?

Re: Can I see table with all columns and it\'s description

I have it on Xe.

Big issue I have is how to print the tables. Suggestions on other threads just do not work for us. The export function does not work either.

What is the name of the app, because I do not seem to have it on 8.11...

Re: RE: Can I see table with all columns and it\'s description

P80010
Browse Table Definition or Table Columns Browse

Re: RE: Can I see table with all columns and it\'s description

P80010 was obsoleted after XE/8.0.
Don't ask me why.
We just wrote our own replacement using tables F9860, F98711, F9203, F9210.

Re: Can I see table with all columns and it\'s description

Do you have access to OMW? You can do a print from Table Design Aid. See attachment for a print of the F0006.

Re: RE: Can I see table with all columns and it\'s description

When we upgraded from Xe to 8.10 I noticed this wasn't available. We had our CNC consultant port it over from Xe. I don't know why they would exclude this valuable tool after Xe. Is this still an issue, or is it gone after Xe?

Re: Can I see table with all columns and it\'s description

Hey, check out the free downloadable trial of our OneAssist - will save you a lot of effort, i.e.: to display a table structure would take a few seconds, no need to checkout, etc.

Re: Can I see table with all columns and it\'s description

Hi eriley,

I tried in fast path P80010 but it saw me error "INVALID COMMAND" ???/

Re: RE: Can I see table with all columns and it\'s description

Try P980011 Cross Reference
PS You need to previously Build the Cross Reference (run it in the environment you want to see the Objects info).
Warm regards,

Re: RE: Can I see table with all columns and it\'s description

Larry,

Could you shed some light on how you would use SQL to get the column descriptions? Right now I have a query that joins F9210 & F9203 on the FRDTAI column, and filter on a column name. However, the result set returned is not distinct. Looks like there are multiple descriptions per column name in the F9203 table.

Thanks.

Maria
