R98403... I usually make a copy of an existing version, and then I
select the data sources or environments, and the tables I need to copy
or refresh.

It also gives you a Run in test or final mode (or something like that)
processing option

Create A Copy R98403_XJDE0019. Set the Processing Option with the Appropriate Source and Target Data Source.

Our database is Oracle. This process is handled by our DBA. We do this every quarter. I believe she exports from proddta & prodctl and imports into crpdta & crpctl.

I suppose the R98403 would be the quickest to setup and reasonably the safest. However, it doesn't perform as well as custom code written for your DBMS (at least in the iSeries world). If your looking for something long-term, you might want to put the extra effort into it. Maybe use the R98403 with logging as a starting point.

Additionally, something you can do with a custom program is skinny out the millions of rows you don't want to copy to a PY database.
