How many customers on ERP 811 or testing ERP 811

Hi all,

Very good topic.

We are going to upgrade to 8.11 from 8.0. The 2nd site just went live this month. In fact, 3 or 4 sites of Finance and 2 sites of MFG have went live.

But now the performance of the database server is becoming bad. We use SQL Server. Maybe the reason is:

1. Business data is increasing significantly.
2. Many customization for FIN which may cause performance issue.
3. Complicated MFG calculation (We use Sale Configurator module with a large mount of segments, very complex Assemble Inclusion Rules)
4. FIN and MFG share the same one DB.

Team is focus on the performance which possible to impact the next implementation.

Anybody has the experience of replacing the MS SQL to other DB and OS due to performance issue ?

Any comment is appreciated.

My opinion is, that the DB switch is not likely to improve anything. Unless you get a bigger box at the same time, but then you can do the same without changing the DB.

Generally, SQL appears to be the fastest for JDE anyway.

Tuning and archiving is practicaly all that is necessary...
