We experienced the same error for users who don't have "local admin"
permissions on their fat client machines.

Re: RE: Sign on registry error message

You can use something like this:

http://members.optushome.com.au/apastuhov/windows_registry_commander.htm

to grant "CHANGE" registry access on selected sub-keys to "Domain Users" group.

Sub-keys include "HKLM\Software\JDEdwards" (how amusing that PSFT didn't re-name it too!), "HKLM\Software\Classes" and perhaps a couple more - give it a go and see what is the smallest number of changes you can get it to work with.

There are two types of access errors:
- those that prevent users from running OW - you want these fixed and
- those that just log a warning in the JDE.LOG - these you can leave as is.

On top of this, find a similar tool for NTFS file-system access to grant access to "C:\*.*" and "C:\WINNT\JDE.INI".

Once you go through the pain of configuring this, you can use the resulting script to run anywhere any time, even remotely.

Perhaps, someone has already done this and can share (or sell ;-) a ready script?..

Re: RE: Sign on registry error message

Thanks for the suggestion we will try it.
