ESUs...

Ok, this may seem like a strange question, but I have a reason for asking...
Is there anything preventing a user other than JDE from installing an ESU?

Yes your rights it's a strange question........

1. You can't download the exe for the ESU.

2. The exe file you downloaded is bad.

3. You already applied the ESU.

4. You are using the wrong environment on your Deployment Server

5. or maybe you are not doing the deployment from your Deployment Server.

6. You are trying to deploy an ESU that is not meant for your installation
version.

7. Something is wrong with your Planner Environment.

8. The person doing the install does not have admin rights to the Deployment
Server.

........................

Here you are some posibilities:

* ESUs just can be installed form JDEPLAN, so restrict the access to it.
(there are several methods)
* ESUs just can be installed form Deployment. Secure it.

Sort of,

First, an ESU must be applied on the Deployment server by a user who signs into the planner (JDEPLAN, PSFTPLAN) environment. Any user who may signin to the planner environment on the deployment server will be able to apply an ESU.

If you restrict execution access to the deployment server, then this would restrict unauthorized users from applying an ESU. You can also restrict a user from applying ESU by securing the user from the planner environment.

Oh, I'm not having a problem installing one... I'm just considering what to do in the event that some new=20=0D=0Asecurity restrictions mean that the person who does CNC stuff if I'm out of the office can't have the JDE passw ord.=0D=0A=0D=0A
