Question on Ship Confirm and GL Dates??

Hi all,

New to this list. Well a little background might help here. I have not
used World for over 6 years, and when I was working with it, mostly I
did was report writing or worked with changing the green screens to GUI.
I just started working for a new company, not as a JDE consultant, but
as an Inventory Analyst. Here they are using, what I can tell, is World
A7.3. I am not sure what CUM they are on. They have the system locked
down tight. Here is the problem that we are having and I thought I
might try here and see if anyone could shed alittle light on this.

On some of the PO's we are seeing that they are not being ship
confirmed, but the GL/Date is being changed like it has been posted.
Has any one ever ran across a problem like this before. It is being
thought that when users are doing a ship confirm that they are doing
something wrong. What could cause the GL/Date to be changed like the PO
was shipped confirmed but never was. And then that PO is locked and a
ship confirm can not be done on it.

Not really sure. A73 on AS/400 I think.

Lee, Do you mean Sales Orders? I hope so. Are the lines fully shipped or partially shipped? What is the next status in the Order Activity Rules after Ship Confirm? Do the invoices go to AR? Are there any posting reports? Is inventory being updated in the cardex? You can tell the version and cum by using hidden selection 97.

nothing else is happening to the SO.

Lee, SO prefills several of the fields. I don't recall if the dates are one of them. An easy way to toest this is to create an order and then look at the dates to see if they are filled prior to any other transactional activity against the order.
