upgrading Oracle from 8i version to 9i

Hi list,

We'll need to change our oracle database version, to use oracle 9.
Did someone already did that upgrade ? Any particular issues ?

For upgrading, we were thinking of exporting the 8i database, in flat files, and then import into a 9i database. What do you think ? Any other ideas ?

When upgrading an Oracle release I believe our DBA exports, then imports the files but I don't know if they are in flat file format. Hopefully you have a DBA on site to do this upgrade.
