Has anyone tried to uninstall an Update? we are currently sitting at Update
7 in DV and TS environments, but are at Update 3 in PY and PD. due to many
circumstances, mostly the time for retrofits and testing, my manager is
considering backing off of 7 and staying at 3 until we go to ERP 9...oh
excuse me, 8.9.

I think the cleanest method would be to restore DEV from a backup that containes th version level you wish to revert to. If it was production this wouldn't be a viable option but for DEV it's probably acceptable and likely the easiest.

Libbi,

I have never tried to uninstall an update, and shudder at the thought. Since OL & DD are shared with PROD you would need to do an uninstall of any ESU's you loaded after the Update, then uninstall the Update itself. I question whether I trust JDE's processes enough to do the job right.

You also need to check if any developers used the new DD items/defintions before you do the un-installs.

Just one mans opinion.

DON"T DO IT........Tom is correct in everything he said and even with all that you can still have problems.....We took bad advice once and uninstalled Update 6. It was the wrong thing to do and cause problems until we took Update 7.
