Failover/High Availability

Is there anyone that can point me to, or has info on, a workable high availability/failover design for Xe? We don't want to use clustering, if possible.
We are on Xe, XU3, SP18, OS Win2000, Oracle DB. Thanks ahead for anyone that can point me in the right direction.

Thomas -- there are a few documents on the Knowledge Garden relating to High Availability, although most of them are a few years old, and pre-Xe, but have concepts that are still usable.

Look for these:

"OneWorld High Availability Architecture At COMPANY"
document name = cs_company_high_availability_karsten_nov2001.doc

"Making Sense of High Availability (HA) and Clustered Environments"
document name = f000004.doc

"Windows 2000 & SQL Server 2000 High Availability Cluster Installation & Configuration"
document name = win2000_sql_cluster_cruikshank_march2002.doc

(I realize you said you didn't want to use clustering and that you were on Oracle, but, the last 2 might still have some usable ideas.)

Good luck!

Hamp-

Thanks for the input; however, I have already looked at these. I was
wondering if there is someone out there that has a recent doc. or has done
anything with a SAN - we have a Compaq SAN using Compaq HSG80 cards.

We use Lakeview Technology's Mimix on iSeries and it works well. They have just come out with a Mimix for Windows.
