Named Event Rules (NER)

I was wondering if someone could tell me what exactly are NER (Named Event Rules), what are they used for, and how are they different from Event Rules. I am in the middle of a training course for One World and I am not clear on this. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Kerri

Hi Kerri!

NER:s are Business Functions written in ER-code but are not attached to a form or a report like normal ER code. They do have a data structure to allow passing of parameters between the calling function and the NER.
As the NER is not based on a form or a report, the data from tables that is needed by the NER is read using table I/O or other business functions

The business functions beginning with "N" (object name in OL/OMW) are NER Business functions whereas business functions beginning with "B" are C-Business functions (written in C or C++)

Regards...
