Our major customer uses SAP. Has anyone developed a suitable interface for data transfer, i.e. sales orders, from SAP to JDE Xe, or vice versa?

For SAP -> JDE, JDE has an established EDI interface for batch entry of
sales orders. It was originally developed for World Software, but I believe
that it also exists in XE. This is known in EDI terms as an inbound 850
(Purchase Order). See menu G47212 - options 2, 3, & 4. The program is
P47011 (in World), and the main files used by this process are F47011
(Header information) and F47012 (Detail information). There is
documentation for this in the JDE-supplied EDI documentation.

There are also several KG documents related to using this interface. Search
for "850" and you will find several related links. Here are a couple:

As far as JDE -> SAP, as a starting point I would suggest investigating to
see if there is similar JDE EDI functionality for this. Maybe someone else
on the list can give you additional information...

Are the sales orders coming out of JDE or out of SAP? I have a client right
now that I am working with .. that most of their clients use SAP and we are
using EDI/XML to interface...

The standard Interoperability features in OneWorld Xe should apply across the board - in many areas as well as traditional SOP & EDI.
