I bought Riversedge Barcode Font because I need to print Barcode from OneWorld Data.

I also tried with OneWorld Barcode Font and works Ok, but this is not the barcode format I need, we need EAN 8 and EAN 13, that why I tried Riversedge but it is not working, I
defined the new font on Barcode Support P986166
but when I generate the report it prints the text and not
barcode the reports are printing the same number I am passing to it, instead of
the barcode, I am sending 7460536520114 as the barcode number, and it is printing the same number, like if it
is a text instead of printing the BARCODE for the given number

I hope someone can help me with this

This may sound silly, but did you go into RDA and change the font for the
field. You did not mention doing that in your post?
Also, did you copy the font onto your ES. It needs to reside there also.

Did you INSTALL the font? Can you use the new font in say, MS Word, or Excel?
My guess is it does not suffice to let OW know about the font; you should let the Operating System know, too.

Adrian,

yes I installed the font on the operating System Windows 2000, and I am able to use it on Excel and Word, any other advice will be very much appreciated.

Sdollard

Yes I selected the font for the field, I did not installed the font on the Enterprise because I am running local as a test only.

I dont know if I need to Install the font on the ES, if I am running locally.

I have just installed the font on the Enterprise, is and the font is not working either.

Ronnet.

Is your printer defined as a PCL or Post Script? I have never been able to
print a barcode on a printer defined as PCL. But if you view the PDF and
then print it prints correctly on a PCL printer. Also, I have had to place
a '*' before and after a value I was trying to barcode.

For OW to see a Truetype, often it needs to be in the OW/systems/resource/truetype directory. Have you placed it there?

Segfault
I copied the TTF to the b7resource\system\resource\truetype
locally an to the Enterprise, but still is not working.

I am running out of ideas, any advice is wellcome

I don't know if changed fonts, or the changes you've made to directories/servers is one the things that applies, but there are some changes to a UBE that won't take effect until you create a new version. Have you tried that?

Here is my two pennies:
I was able to get this font to work, I did install all the fonts to WS, Ent,
Deployment but none of them work. So I decided to upload the font directly
to the printer I used HP laserjet from 5 to 8100. The draw back is if
someone turn off the printer that have the font uploaded to the ROM you need
to uploaded again.

I defined the printer as a Post Script in OneWorld, the printer is a Zebra S300.

DO you have a UBEUseAdobe=0 or =1 statement in your server's JDE.INI file? TTFonts only work with the PostScript filter if the setting is absent or set to 1. If set to zero, you need to build an entry in the font substitution table under the barcode app in GH9013, and upload a PostScript softfont to the printer that has the same name you use in the barcode app.

Please your help,

I have same issue, I need to print my report with barcode.
it work perfect localy under windows, because I have my truetype file installed in local folder, but I can't print it on server.
I read all your comments, and i understand that I have to install it in the server, but my server is under AS400 ( how can I install IT in the server?)

Regards

Ronnet,

You need to delete ALL instances of the Adobe font list cache in your fat client - the PDF render engine will re-create it if it's missing.

Look for files that start with AdobeFnt - you can use AdobeFnt*.lst for your wildcard search. After deleting all of them, the render engine will pick up your barcode font when it rebuilds the font caches.
