JDE <-> BIP connectivity

Hello everyone,

This is my first time assisting an organization with JD Edwards 9.2.0 implementation. Please bear with me on my lack of sufficient knowledge, if any.

I am trying to create a One View / BI Publisher report out of the search results generated by the Invoice Processing module, referencing it here:

The issue is that as soon as I click on "Crete New Report" from the One View tab, it takes me to the Oracle BI Publisher Enterprise window, the data model is listed as the name I had given to the report in JDE, but there actually is no data in it.

I tried to look into the data sources from the "Administration" link on the top right corner of the screen and I only see 'demo' and 'Oracle BI EE'. It makes me think these are the standard connection strings provided by Oracle and somehow the connectivity between JDE and BIP within my organization is not established. If this is the case indeed I can approach the CNC team that may be able to assist. I understand One View is linked to the BI Publisher server through a number of configurations in JDE that can only be configured by tech support. I need to be clear in my own understanding as to what I am trying to do is correct before I reach out to them.

Secondly, it seems to me that there has got to be another way of getting to open BI Publisher. The process that I am following, which is to generate some search results and then clicking on One View to get to it does not feel right to me. Like I said, I am a newbie and understand this may be a rookie question so please bear with me.

Thank you for your time.

Ankit.

Hi Ankit,

some steps are seemed missed.
you should have something to drill & drag columns into a new OVR before it bring to bipublisher.
OVR -> Create New Report -> Report Definition -> Drag some columns -> Save button -> Bring to bipublisher.

The datasource on admin tab is not actual OVR's datasource.
while selecting a exists or new OVR , it loads and bring generated xml files to bipublisher.

some oracle video possible helps.
