handling of multi-part paper

Hi list!

We have a little situation at our company. The situation is the following:
we will be printing our waybills using laser printers. Our waybils will be
printed in a 4 part NCR paper (wee need to print the waybil four times).
Those waybills will be passed to our truck drivers to deliver our product
(packed and bulk cement). In order to give all the copies to our truckers,
we decided to staple all the parts. We would like to know if any of you have
another method, because we think that the truck drivers will break the
forms, or maybe "unstaple" more than one form.

If anyone knows about another method of attaching multiple part paper,
please let us know.
Thanks

Miguel,

You run 4 pieces of NCR paper through the printer, separately, then collate
and staple?
Do the truck drivers hand write data onto the forms, at the customer or
elsewhere? Is that the purpose of using NCR?
The driver writes stuff on the form and gives one copy to the customer? And
the rest of the copies come back to the shipping office?

Get multi-part, carbonless, paper for you laser printers. We did this at a
company that I worked for and it worked great. Ask your paper supplier.

Miguel,

Since you use PDF Wizard and JetForm to print your documents. You may want
to check into a new HP Laser printer that was demonstrated two weeks ago at
the JetForm User Conference in Orlando.

This new printer from HP has a Binding Command that may be just what you
need. You can print a multi-page electronic forms or a multi-part documents
like your waybills. Using the new printer driver you can bind the edge of
the document like a Book ( the binding is so thin, you can not even tell it
there until you try to separate the pages. You can even set the type of
binding. Snap or Solid, the Snap Binding will allow the user to easily
separate one or more pages from the group of pages. The Solid Binding can be
separated but requires a good solid effort by the user. You can Mix the
binding types ( i.e. Make the top 2 copies easy to remove, while the bottom
two stay together).

This printer combined with the JetForm Printer Driver and PDF Wizard may
solve the problem we have all had for years with Bill of Lading and other
documents that required multipart documents with carbon or NCR paper.

This will eliminate manually stapling the documents.

PS. NCR paper for lasers is available in color sheets so the drivers easily
keep track of them.

Yes, we run the paper through the printer separately, collate and staple
them. We are using NCR because the customer needs to sign the document, and
we need those copies back with the signature on them.

I suggest the following:
1. Use plain paper instead of NCR. The NCR paper seldom gives a legible
signature on the copy because people do not press down hard enough with the
pen.
2. Give 2 copies to the driver. He hands one to the customer and has the
customer sign the other, which he returns to the office as proof of
delivery.
