E8.11 Installation Plan - JAS Machine Name

I am installing E8.11 on a test AS/400 with the JAS Server also on the AS/400. During the installation plan, it asks for the Machine Name of the JAS Server (limit 10 characters). In this scenario, will the Enterprise and JAS server have the same name, or is it asking for the JAS name AS_JS_82_[AS/400 name]? The JAS name is > 10 char, but there seems to be a conflict when I try to use the same machine name for the ES and JAS.

Hi,

It's asking for the plain JAS machine name, without
the _JS_82 stuff.

Check your C:\jde.log to see if your JAS is being
refused because of a duplicated key on SY811.F9650 or
on SY811.F9651

If problem comes from duplicated key, then your JAS and
Enterprise should have different names.

You can achieve this on the same box by providing
DNS or HOSTS alias entries.

On the other hand, I (personally) prefer not to install
Enterprise and Web on the same box, they're both
voracious of RAM and CPU and will compete for its
precious resources.
