We are dropping JAS on our current 73.3.1 environment when we upgrade to Xe next month in favor of Terminal Servers. During testing we have encountered problems using Acrobat on the terminal servers, many of which have been discussed here. I want to get an idea what some of you do as workarounds.
1. Printing: We get garbage on some printers when printing from Acrobat via TS. I've seen the workaround to choose 'Print as Image'. Has anyone done anything different?
2. Saving files: Acrobat Reader does not provide an option to save files. How have you provided a way for your thin clients to get an electronic copy of the PDF? I've ruled out sharing the PrintQueue because of the security risks, not to mention that some users aren't on our network; they're accessing OW via NFuse. One thing we're trying: I noticed that the Acrobat plug-in for Internet Explorer provides 'Save As' functionality in place of 'File Open'. So we changed the global file association on our TS to use Internet Explorer for .PDF files. Now clicking the 'View PDF' row exit within OW launches Internet Explorer, and users can save their PDFs locally (we allow mapping of clients drives on the TS.) Any thoughts??
