Hi folks,

I'm in the middle of an upgrade from Xe to 8.10, none of
our clients can run OneWorld 8.10 Debugger.
They're always getting "Can't create service Debugger".
Platform = E810 Tools 8.94E_E1_06_99 - AS/400 V5R3M0
Clients = Win XP SP1 (French) E8.10 + Tools 8.94_E1_06_99

Denver suggested us to run Debug on an English machine,
we still got the same message.
I also tried their suggestions of uninstalling E810
client, deleting a couple of Registry entries and folders,
and install again. So far, no results.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance,

Salut Sébastien,

have you tried the debugger with a different SP? I have experienced bad things with with 8.94.x. I believe a lot of other people have as well. I would try downloading 8.93.S1 client and installing the system folder onto one client machine and give that a try... If that works, then maybe try 8.94.F1 which is faily recent.

Just my 2 cents CAD from a fellow Montrealer,

N.B. Je travaille avec deux de tes collègues de chez IBM: Cristian et Robert.

Hi Jim,

Thanks a lot for your advice, I will start downloading
8.93_S1 and see what happens!
Merci!!

Sebastian

Hi,

Thanks a lot! I'm gonna take a look at those articles.
Have a great week-end,

Integration with Web Methods

Hi Guys,

I am working on a project where the client is using web methods for data integration.can anybody explain me the exact process of the data flow using the web methods.

Appreciate your help.

Thanks

The deal is in your Locale.
If the Locale is not English there are troubles with some addional applications (Workflow Modeler, ER Debugger and so on)
Change your Locale to English.
I've issued the SAR #7094679 at April, 09 2004 (about Workflow Modeler) but still have no any results.

Sab,

I finally could get ER Debugger running on 8.94H1,
it works great on English Windows machines, but it's
still instable in French Windows computers.

Thanks,

Hi Sebastian,

Does ER Debugger instable also in French Windows computers when you set the Regional settings to "English (US)" previously?

Have you tried that?
If not, then try it!

It works for me on 8.93 for Hungarian machines.

I worked on English and Hungarian machines too and I noticed, to be able to start ER Debugger depends on Regional Setting instead of the national version of operating system.

I am not sure, that changing Regional settings does require to re-boot the computer or not to take effect (maybe it depends on operating system) - as far as I know, on NT it does but on XP it doesn't. To be on the safe side, if you make on attempt, then first time re-boot the computer after Reginal Setting change.

Please, let us know, how does it work for you on French Windows. Thanks.

Regards,

Zoltán

Hi Zoltan,

Haven't tried with the Regional Settings.
I'm gonna make some tests and let you know.
Thanks!

Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,

I really-really hope, that it will work you too.

Not all developer has the chance to have an English US Windows client with OW (EO) DV client everywhere, where she/he works - mainly if she/he do it at more site and maybe in more country.

But if not, then on the other site, I suppose, everybody much more likes to debug on her/his computer at her/his desk :)

Good luck,

Zoltán

Hi Zoltan,

Still doesn't work.
8.94H1 Debugger works OK on an English Windows PCs, and
crashes on French Windows PCs. In fact, I'm 95% sure
that it will crash on any language other than English.
As you said, it's not always easy to travel around and
get developer English PCs, I faced similar problems with
Spanish and Portuguese PCs in South America.

Best regards, Sebastian Sajaroff

Hi Sebastian,

Sorry to read, that Regional Setting didn't solve your problem.

Please, check your French computer, that does the:

C:\Program Files\JDEdwards\BPMBroker\JRE

exist or not, and does it contain anything or not.

If it is missing, then copy this folder from the English computer to the French computer (and of course, use English US setting) and try again.

On the other hand, there were two or three thread at least about ER Debugger problems on the developer's forum. Please, check the archive - maybe you can find the solution.

Good luck,

Zoltán
