Connection reset by peer

We are getting an error message in the server logs throughout the day. The error is not visible to the users only in the logs. I assume when it says "connection reset by peer" it is talking about JDENet. I cannot find anything on KG about this message. I cannot tie the message to any one process. Anyone seen this before, and how did you resolve the problem?

Error Message:
4625 Mon Mar 18 11:21:54 2002 netrcv.c286
131-recv returned Connection reset by peer

Thank You
Tim

I'm getting the same error...........

There is a SAR #5914493 for this but no solution so far. Let me know wht you
find out.

"Connection was reset by peer" is a TCP/IP error that is passed on by OneWorld and is caused when a socket is closed.

I looked into this a while back to try to determine what in OneWorld was causing it.

I had a theory that not having enough maxNetProcesses= and maxNetConnections= set in jde.ini caused the errors but I never had a chance to test it.

Anyone care to test and report?

<font style="font-family:'Arial';font-size:10pt;I'm getting the same error
too. According to SAR 5914493 (The problem is caused by jdenet failing to
notify the kernel to release the user environment on the NT server when the
client side of a socket connection is down). I'm not sure whether this is the
reason why the memory usage of the kernel (on our enterprise server) keeps
increasing until the server is at a crawl.
