Split database moved to a new machine.

We had a split database on the same unix server, live & dev Oracle instances, and just moved the dev one to another machine. We can access the dev environments ok through OW but we can no longer run UBE's from these environments on the original unix server which is our unix enterprise and security server. But we can run the UBE's on our Intel enterprise servers ok.
Please advise what may be stopping the UBE's running on the unix enterprise server.

PROBLEM SOLVED .... even though we run on Oracle 8.1.7 and the database instance is started using the 8.1.7 binaries and we had changed the 8.1.7 tnsnames.ora so the unix user oracle could access the new machine and database, our unix user jdeb7333 points to 8.0.6 binaries (as using the libora80.so set of libs from OW) and there the tnsnames.ora file was still pointing the dev instance to the orig machine using IPC connection where we needed it to be the new machine using TCP connection.
