Ok....

Can someone give me a quick explainaion as to why the F983051 is mapped to the Versions data source - DNT and the F98306 (PO Text) is mapped to Central Objects. Also is DNT oney for the 400 platforem or does Unix uses DNT also.

Thanks

Our F983051 is mapped to Versions - Data source. Not the DNT.

As far as I know "DNT" stands for "Do-Not-Translate". In the ODBC setup
for DB2 connectios there is a checkbox where this translation is switched
on and off. This is only used for AS400 and DB2. For Oracle und SQL
databases the *DNT datasources are not used.
I am not 100% sure as to what is translated ( or not translated), but
there are other DNT Datasources for all kinds of tables.
My 2 cents!

Ok lets forget the DNT part I totally get that part :) now does anyone know why the F98306 (PO test is mapped to cnetral objects) I know this is JDE out of the box mapping but I am curoius.

Cleola,

This goes back to the older AS/400 days, when the 400 could not support BLOB
objects, and you had to have a SQL Server or Oracle DB for these. Since the
F98306 contains BLOB objects, it was mapped to the Central Objects.
Nowadays you can map any file to any data source on any RDB.

Cleola,

Here is my thinking on the question:

Processing Option Template objects -- "T" objects are stored in the Central Objects table F98743. The associated text information for each of these PO Template objects is stored in the F98306. The F98306 therefore needs to be stored alongside the objects it is storing the text for and so lives in the Central Objects datasource.

Hope this helps.
