Stopping prompt for Version

hi list

We are on XE update 3 with SP17.1. Iwould like to know the best possible solution to stop users from right clicking and prompt for a batch version from any given menu. Itried all the possible combinations in the menu design (even the blind execution) but the users still can right click and go to a different version other than on the menu.

Any sort of suggestions will be welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Dalip,

In Security Workbench (P00950), add Processing Option security and turn off "Prompt for Version" access. Of course, you'll want to do this as appropriate per user/group/*PUBLIC and per object/*ALL.

We disabled Prompt for Version for *ALL and *PUBLIC and then granted it back to the group(s)/user(s) that still need it (including the sysadmin group). This way, nothing slips through the cracks accidentally.

Hi Dalip
In addition to what Don said, you need to specify the versions in the menu( if the prompt for version is no in processing option security) otherwise user will get the security error.

Another theing that is even more dangerous than prompting for version if you are using oneworld explorer is on the tools menu----->Report versions that allows your users to run any job in the system.

Just a thought since you are concerned about version prompting.
