We used to use the 'W' environments. Even though our AS400 is very fast and
has plenty of power, dasd, etc. the jobs were hanging up and going slow
(degradation of performance). We quit using the W's and all seems to be
going much better on our Citrix servers. So I see no problem with your not
using the W's. The only difference is mappings anyway... I'm sure some
people find them better but we had lots of problems with them and we have
almost every OW module up and running.

and we use as/400 ,too.
we used to use a 720,with 2G memory,10 harddisk,but it runs very slow.
so we change the default UBE run on LOCAL.
now we have changed our server to 830,2cpu,with 6G memory,
25 harddisk,still we dare not change the Default UBE from LOCAL to AS/400.



could you tell me the model of ur AS/400?do u run the Default UBE
on local?

Trish does this the same way we do.
Run the R92TAM and R98CRTGL on a FAT Client. Yes Bee, you just copy the
generated fiels over the Term Servers per Trish's instructions. I've never
tried running the two on the Term Server, and JDE says not to do this.

Hi Bee,

Sorry, I didn't see this post until now. We have our DEFAULT set as the
AS400 but we have mapped quite a few things local... most of the things we
developed in-house are local and a few other ones also. But most run on the
AS400.

We have an 830 4-way processor with a bit over 8 gig of memory. We also
have everything with gigabyte cards... the AS400, the LPAR, & all servers.
That really helps a lot for everything.
