Has anyone seen changes in the setup requirements pertaining
to ERP between XE and ERP 8.0?

Thanks in advance,

Tim

Has anyone actually gone thru the upgrade? If so how did it go?

Actually, there are quite a few differences... like it goes down as B7334
instead of B7333...

Take a look at the new Installation Manuals (by platform) on the Knowledge
Garden.

Actually it is not that much different from Xe
Seeing how it was named Xe version 2 before the great marketing name switch

And the ERP8 install manual still has some references to XEv2. Looks like
they forgot to do a "Search and Replace".

From what I understand the only difference between Xe and ERP 8.0 is the application of SP20 and Update 6. Is this assumption wrong?

No Hamp

Theres very LITTLE difference.

I just installed ERP 8.0 at home on my systems, and compared against Xe. There are a number of applications that have been updated and added - and interestingly enough the service pack was 19.1 (did I get an early release of ERP8.0 ?)

In effect, the system reads "B7.3.3.3" - so not sure why you think its going to read "B7.3.3.4" - I even checked Standalone version, and it also read "B7.3.3.3"

Now, I MIGHT have got an early release - but I really think this is a marketing effort.

BTW - of COURSE I would be hoping for an "upgrade procedure" for Xe customers - its how I make money ! The next BIG upgrade is going to be "B9".
