Housekeeping

Hi,

Wonder whether anyone has any advise on JDE house-keeping? esp. on the
Distribution modules.

There are purge pgms in G41311, G42312 and G43A311.

Will running those pgms suffice?

I would assume the sequence of purge should be :-
a) purge both the PO Details & SO Details
b) purge both the PO & SO Headers
c) purge the inventory files.

Is this correct?

Do the purge pgms work well? eg. do they do the relevant checking so that it
will not allow me to purge an item master record for which SO/PO tranx still
exist.

OR does it blindly delete without doing any checks to the related files?

Appreciate whatever advise you can give.

Thanks in advance.

May

Just went through the purging face myself, I can tell you that it works
superb! By cleaning all this history data (which I recommend you save once
the purge file is created on a separate tape), the system takes new life.

We also wrote a little program in order to clean the 4111 and 3111 files
based on date selection. It's amazing how much stuff is stored by these
files.
