Hello All,

How does one setup and esu so that it well REPLACE the object? I know =
that the modification flage must be set (P98401) , but the options =
there are only MERGE or DO NOT MERGE I don't see and option there for =
REPLACE.

Thank You=20

In Spec Merge Selection, if the flag is set to MERGE, then it will try to integrate your customizations with the updated object.

To REPLACE the object completely, as you want, then set the flag for DO NOT MERGE. This means it will NOT try to do anything with your customizations and just replace the affected object.

Well..What if the effected object is the one I customized. Would it keep my
changes or replace it.

If you set the flag TO MERGE it will merge JDE new code to your existing code, it may not preserve all your codes however. If you set it to DO NOT MERGE it will replace the object totally....Your code change will not be preserved.

The best thing will be to bake a backup of your modified objects.

I agree with Cleola. To preserve your changes, set the flag to MERGE, but also make sure you have a copy in another path code somewhere. Usually that means that you have promoted the object up to PY and maybe PD, then apply the ESU to DV.

Then you can use the Visual ER Compare to see what happened to your customizations.
