Update Package / Recompressed Parent question

Good morning jdelist.

I've been looking for an answer in the Edwards documentation without success
so now I will avail myself to the collective knowledge of this group.

I have not built a Full PD package in quite awhile, but have recompressed
the parent package each week. Would I be safe in deleting the update
packages after the parent has been recompressed, or is there a reason to
keep them until the next Full package build.

Thanks

Fat and Thin clients

I have been deleting my Update Packages everytime I recompress and re-deploy my full. Once the deployement records for the client PC shows that they are installed then you should not have any issues, I have yet to have any. If there are still records that are at status approved you can delete them and re-deploy the the full to those clients. Also Once all you updates are on you enterprise server then deleting the updated is not an Issue.

Also before you re-deploy the compresses full to your clients remove all the previous deployemt records that are at approved status. I have had instances where they deploy went hokey if there are multiple instances or the same package waiting to be accepted on a Fat client.
