table conversion time

Dear All

Can someone tell me how long the table conversion process takes for a database of about 15G in size? I'm upgrading JDE7332 to JDE XE. My deployment server is doing it now but looks like no activity (no traffic, no cpu usage).

Thanks very much

Bryce

Hi Bryce,

Check your Printqueue directory. You will see that there are txt files for each of the table conversions that have been ran.

The time will depend on if you have a lot or manufacturing transactions and PO transactions.

I have seen it take 20 minutes to 1.5 hours per environment .

Also, next time, please include your configuration.

Bryce,
the execution time for TC depends entirely on the amount of data you have
in the tables to be converted and, of course, on your hardware. The table
conversion itself should not take much more then a couple of hours. That
includes building all new tables and indexes. There are not too many
tables changes from B7332 to Xe.

If you do an upgrade by the book, your CRP data will be a copy of your
production data. You convert your CRP data first. This way you will have
a very good idea, how long the TC will take for your production data.

Good luck, Gerd

How is you table conversion coming, did it complete yet? Just to copy a
table from one place to another (15 gigs) could take several hours let alone
a conversion process. If this is truly a data conversion UBE that you
created you may try a small selection of data and turn on logging to see
what issues exist.
