Bar Coding with AWM turned on

I am running JDE 8.1 cum 2, with Discrete manufacturing and Advanced
warehousing. We are looking at implementing Bar Codes into our system and
have chosen to use the third party software supplied by T.L. Ashford.

We are looking for a way to use the current JDE programs without
modifications to except the information scanned in from our pallets labels
and to confirm it against the putaway confirmation. Meaning our Freezer
department wants to make sure that the lift drivers a putting the right
product away with the right lot # into the right location. Is there a way
currently using the JDE software to ensure that they are doing this.
Basically all the lift drivers do now is to confirm the putaway with a '1"
into the location suggestion and it has been proven to be less that
accurate. We want to force them to put it away where it has been
suggested.

We are currently using and confirming locations with bar codes. However we are not using Advanced Warehousing yet. We are planning a 2003 implementation of Advanced Warehousing. We are using a third party software company "DSI". I'm not quite sure how confirming locations works with directed logic yet. We are in the design phase of this. Are you using RF equipment or is all of your confirming being done on a PC?
