SP 19 and Update 5

Someone on here earlier posted that they had an issue with Update5 and
service pack 19. It was stated that the service pack had to be rolled back
to 18x before Update 5 would install properly. Could you elaborate as to
what the issue was, was JDE involved at all in troubleshooting this?
The problem is that I am under a very tight deadline, and for all of the
testing that is proposed by my manager, I do not have the time to install
SP19, test the service pack, and then if there are issues, roll the service
pack back to SP18 and re-test before installing Update5.
JDE is strongly suggesting to go with SP19, and claims they are unaware of
any issues between the two (SP19, Update5). Any more information on your
particular issues would be helpful.

Same here, would like some more details. We just received SP19 and
Update 5. We are currently on SP16.1 and Xe Base (no Updates applied
just various ESUs). Thanks, gm.

AS400 V4R5 Coexist CO-NT Xe SP16.1

There was a Breaking News article on the Knowledge Garden about memory violations occuring when applying Update 3 or Update 4 with SP18 (with one-offs C1 through F1) or SP18.1 (with one-offs A1 or B1). The memory violations occurred during the Table and Index Generation step of the ASU Installation Workbench (R98407).

The fix was to roll back to SP18 base or below. The issue was also fixed with the release of SP18_G1, and SP18.1_D1.

So installing Update 5 with SP19 should not be a problem.

i installed sp19 in my lab environment and had problems installing
update 5.
i had to go back to sp18 to successfully install update 5...


It is by dannybnguyen, but he does not have his email listed on the
website...if you are out there, could you email me (even off the list)
on what your issues were?

I was told the same thing John. We're going with SP19 and Update 5 also...

I just finished applying SP19 and Update 5 with no JDE related issues at
all. Make sure you have the latest planner ESU (JD14838) installed before
you start the update.
